The Drake School of Journalism and Mass Communication is a community of scholars committed to the highest professional and personal standards. As a member of this community, I accept responsibility for honesty and excellence in all of my interactions. I recognize that such integrity is the foundation of my academic and professional careers, and of my life as an ethical person.
I pledge to be bound by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication's Honor Code, and to encourage my peers to respect and observe the Code. I understand that I am bound by the Code, not only in connection with my classroom work, but also when I participate in extra-curricular activities related to the journalism profession, including, but not limited to, SJMC-related clubs and University-related media, such as the University newspaper, magazine(s) and broadcast outlets. I understand that if I am found in violation of the Honor Code, I may be subject to penalties, ranging from failure in an academic exercise to suspension or dismissal from an SJMC class, the School and/or the University, all of which will be documented in my permanent file.
The full Honor Code can be found here.
